Smooth Pirates created and outlined the concept, script, and technical approach for the creation of an iconic intro sequence for VSYN+, a streaming platform dedicated to diverse content. The intro aims to embody the platform's core values of inclusivity, pushing creative boundaries, and celebrating individuality while adhering to VSYN+'s brand guidelines.
We, as a creative producer and director, got inspired by the concept of an intro with visual elements packaged as small Easter eggs. We had an artist collaboration with the Visual Vernacular artist Justin Perez and we worked with Swedish motion designer Erik Andersson. The soundtrack is made by Danish media composer Rune R.B. Eskildsen.
Visual Vernacular is a mixture of visually iconic sign language and bodily expression accompanied by mime. The aesthetics of communication brings internal and external freedom. The body expresses itself and the hands follow and guide the narration.
